About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Service, sell, and manage assigned complex middle-market and high-impact business accounts under minimal supervision
  • Serve as customer advocate between customers and carriers regarding insurance coverage
  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers and/or Producers to identify coverage gaps and recommend appropriate offerings
  • Perform or oversee servicing activities including new business and renewal submissions, coverage reviews and analyses, proposals, policy changes, and timely policy document delivery
  • Maintain professional, thorough, concise, and error-free documentation in agency management systems and carrier websites
  • Identify and resolve customer issues by listening, clarifying, researching files, procedures, and guidelines
  • Respond accurately to customers regarding existing coverage and recommend additional products or services to minimize coverage gaps
  • Participate in department and agency meetings
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve customer experience and department/agency efficiency
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Some regional travel may be necessary

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's degree and 5 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Property & Casualty Broker's license and/or Life, Accident, and Health license, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Professional Insurance designation or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Excellent verbal and business writing skills
  • Ability to analyze complex data, research problems, and make sound decisions
  • Ability to work independently and in groups
  • Ability to present information to team members and customers
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments with attention to detail and quality
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook email management
  • Effective quoting, proposing, and binding of coverage within stringent deadlines
  • Highly proficient in management systems and technology tools
  • Expert knowledge of department workflows and guidance
  • Expert knowledge of insurance concepts and core carrier underwriting guidelines and requirements
  • Ability to travel regionally as needed
  • Ability to move objects up to 10 lbs
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable
