About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop comprehensive test strategies, plans, and schedules aligned with project requirements
Lead and execute manual and automated testing activities across multiple projects
Ensure thorough test coverage and adherence to quality standards
Design effective test scenarios using banking and financial services domain knowledge
Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure domain alignment
Monitor, track, and report defects and issues throughout the testing lifecycle
Follow up with development and support teams to ensure timely defect resolution
Provide updates to management and stakeholders through reports and status meetings
Prepare and present reports on test progress, quality metrics, and risk assessments
Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of testers
Oversee resource allocation, workload distribution, and team development activities
Build relationships with onshore/offshore teams, vendors, and stakeholders
Manage expectations and address stakeholder concerns
Identify opportunities to optimize testing processes and tools
Promote quality assurance and testing best practices
Synthesize customer contractual needs into system test solutions within technical, schedule, and cost constraints
Develop and direct comprehensive system test plans, procedures, and schedules
Coordinate integrated testing activities
Review test requirements for completeness
Perform technical analysis of complete systems and prepare system-level evaluations

Requirements

What you’ll need

6-10 years of experience
6+ years of experience in software testing, including at least 2 years in a test lead or similar role
Strong knowledge of banking and financial services domain
Proficiency in manual and automation testing tools, including Selenium, QTP, and JMeter
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Experience in issue tracking and test management tools, including JIRA and TestRail
Demonstrated ability to track issues closely and follow up diligently until resolution
Proven experience in team management, people management, and stakeholder management
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience working with Japanese clients or in Japanese business environments is preferred
Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies is preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
ISTQB, CSTE, or equivalent certification
