About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in the design, development, implementation, and ongoing modification of computerized healthcare systems
  • Support clinical and operational departments across the organization
  • Optimize workflows through system implementations, enhancements, upgrades, and onboarding
  • Train employees and end users on systems, best practices, and Epic functionality
  • Act as a subject matter expert and liaison to IT for assigned areas
  • Provide daily support to EHR application users
  • Maintain system setup through ticket maintenance and resolution
  • Follow through on problem resolution and recommend longer-term solutions
  • Translate workflow gaps into documented tickets and collaborate with internal IT teams and vendors
  • Facilitate communication between IT and operational departments
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for assigned application areas
  • Deploy new system implementations and functionalities and evaluate system utilization
  • Support health information systems that improve quality, patient safety, efficiency, population health, and patient engagement
  • Design, test, implement, and evaluate informatics solutions, data structures, and decision-support tools
  • Implement policies and practices protecting patient information privacy, confidentiality, and security
  • Document current workflows for future optimization
  • Analyze and assist with implementing moderately complex clinical and non-clinical health information system processes and workflows
  • Participate in Epic upgrades, testing, validation, and go-live support
  • Attend meetings, trainings, continuing education, and other required activities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must reside in Arizona
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience working in the healthcare industry utilizing clinical information systems, including electronic health records, in an ambulatory and/or operational setting
  • 3+ years of experience with information systems, clinical software, EHR (Epic), and other computer applications
  • General knowledge of the healthcare industry, computer science, informatics, and patient care
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills, with the proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Required to pass a pre-employment background check and drug testing
  • Satisfactory completion of required EHR vendor training within 2 months of start date
  • Timely and satisfactory completion of training or certification as determined by leader
  • Valid and current driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Preferred: Associate's or higher degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Preferred: 3+ years of healthcare industry experience
