About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate product development, release planning, and successful delivery of new and existing products
  • Support reporting and analytics products within a student information system, including Power BI reports, dashboards, and self-service reporting tools
  • Create use cases, requirements, estimates, and user stories with agile development teams
  • Liaise between K-12 school and district users and development teams
  • Define and maintain metric and data definitions
  • Collaborate on data models, source data views, relationships, calculations, and data quality
  • Manage the standard report and dashboard catalog, including prioritization, releases, updates, and retirement of outdated content
  • Shape self-service reporting workflows, including report creation, saving, sharing, discovery, roles, and permissions
  • Ensure reporting solutions meet FERPA privacy requirements and appropriate data access boundaries
  • Analyze product usage analytics to measure adoption and inform prioritization
  • Validate report mockups, prototypes, and early-stage dashboards with clients
  • Provide content for sales, user training, and documentation tools
  • Maintain release notes, report definitions, roadmaps, and client documentation
  • Manage client feedback and incorporate the voice of the customer into products

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years related experience or existing product knowledge
  • Experience with business intelligence or reporting tools
  • Microsoft Power BI strongly preferred, including building reports, understanding data models, basic DAX or Power Query
  • Experience with K-12 education data or student information systems preferred
  • Ability to read and write basic SQL queries, or comparable experience exploring and validating data, preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Understanding of data visualization best practices
  • Comfort working with data elements, relationships, calculations, and quality/validation concepts
  • Ability to translate loosely defined questions into specific, measurable requirements
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong attention to detail
