About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Shape and execute distinctive campaigns for independent films across theatrical and VOD/SVOD releases
- Lead day-to-day creative marketing strategy for assigned films from acquisition through release
- Develop trailers, teasers, promotional videos, digital AV, social content, key art, theatrical materials, and other campaign assets
- Translate positioning, audience, and brand strategy into campaign ideas, creative briefs, and deliverables
- Provide creative direction and quality control across campaign materials
- Evaluate creative work and provide actionable feedback to internal teams, agencies, editors, designers, and partners
- Develop and execute integrated campaigns across AV, key art, digital, social, experiential, and theatrical channels
- Oversee production from creative brief through final delivery
- Optimize creative using campaign performance and audience learnings
- Manage and develop Managers and Coordinators through direction, feedback, coaching, and growth opportunities
- Establish best practices for creative development, production, approvals, and workflow
- Identify creators, cultural voices, platforms, formats, communities, and cultural conversations for campaign opportunities
- Lead marketing-driven AV shoots, including creative development, agency and vendor management, budget oversight, production, and talent coordination
- Build relationships with agencies, editors, designers, freelance talent, creators, distributors, publicists, and other partners
- Ensure materials reflect each film’s identity and company standards
- Collaborate with Acquisitions, Production, Development, Post, Delivery, Digital Distribution, Legal/Business Affairs, Publicity, and Theatrical Distribution
- Support home entertainment and awards/FYC initiatives
- Track in-theater material deadlines and adhere to MPA guidelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of experience in film or entertainment marketing
- Significant experience developing creative campaigns for theatrical releases
- Experience managing and developing a team
- Exceptional creative taste and strong film marketing instincts
- Expertise developing trailers, teasers, key art, AV, digital, and social campaign creative across theatrical and streaming releases
- Strong understanding of audiences and culture
- Ability to connect positioning and audience insights to creative ideas
- Proven ability to develop, articulate, present, and defend a creative point of view
- Experience leading complex creative campaigns and multi-vendor production workflows from concept through delivery
- Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and competing priorities
- Strong relationships with, or experience identifying and managing, creative agencies, editors, designers, filmmakers, talent representatives, creators, and other external creative partners
- Ability to move between big-picture creative strategy and hands-on execution
- Highly collaborative working style and cross-functional experience with Production, Post, Digital, Distribution, Legal/Business Affairs, Publicity, and Theatrical Distribution
- Deep curiosity about film, audiences, culture, social platforms, and entertainment discovery
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace, and project management platforms such as Airtable or Asana
