About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work within a development team of 3–8 engineers to build, maintain, and enhance the open-source application platform
- Manage the full application lifecycle, including infrastructure provisioning, application installation, and reliable production operation
- Take end-to-end ownership of requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment
- Lead design and implementation of complex development initiatives
- Mentor junior engineers
- Collaborate with development teams, operations teams, and product managers
- Apply DevOps best practices as part of a global team operating 24x7
Requirements
What you’ll need- Tertiary qualifications in software engineering or computer science
- 5–10 years of commercial experience regularly delivering quality software and overcoming technical challenges
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex technical solutions
- Proficiency in Java, SQL, and at least one other modern programming language
- Openness to learning additional technologies
- Strong communication skills
- Must have the right to work in Australia
- Must be able to work from the Canberra or Melbourne office at least 3–4 days a week
