About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary strategic technology advisor for assigned clients
- Establish trusted relationships with executives, business owners, and key decision-makers
- Lead technology strategy meetings and technology business reviews
- Communicate findings, risks, recommendations, and investment priorities in business-focused terms
- Develop and maintain strategic technology roadmaps, IT budgets, and lifecycle management plans
- Evaluate client technology environments for infrastructure risks, inefficiencies, and modernization opportunities
- Develop practical recommendations and coordinate solutions with stakeholders
- Implement proactive IT strategies to reduce support issues, prevent emergencies, and lower total IT ownership costs
- Identify and recommend emerging technologies, strategic improvements, and service offerings
- Recommend and position Kinetix services to existing clients
- Use ScalePad to track assets, evaluate lifecycles, develop replacement budgets, and prepare technology business reviews
- Coordinate with internal technical teams, service delivery personnel, vendors, and external partners
- Assist internal teams with escalations, technical questions, and strategic decisions
- Partner with Cybersecurity Services on security, risk management, and compliance considerations
- Maintain documentation of client IT systems, infrastructure configurations, assets, and recommendations
- Monitor evolving client technology needs and business priorities
- Deliver a consultative, service-oriented client experience focused on measurable value and long-term relationships
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of professional information technology experience
- Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure, operational best practices, and technology lifecycle management
- Client-facing experience in a consultative, technical advisory, or account management role
- Experience presenting technology strategies and recommendations to executive stakeholders
- Strong technical knowledge of Windows and macOS environments, servers, cloud infrastructure, networking, and modern business technology solutions
- Experience evaluating technology environments, identifying improvement opportunities, developing strategic recommendations, and supporting organizational technology initiatives
- Excellent communication, facilitation, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple client relationships and translate technical concepts into clear business recommendations
- Preferred: experience as a vCIO, IT Director, technical strategist, or strategic technology advisor within an MSP environment
- Preferred: experience developing client technology roadmaps, IT budgets, lifecycle management plans, and executive-level technology business reviews
- Preferred: familiarity with ScalePad
- Preferred: working knowledge of Cisco Meraki, Jamf MDM, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Azure, Okta, OneLogin, CrowdStrike, and ThreatLocker
- Preferred: experience recommending technology services, supporting account growth, and identifying client IT improvement opportunities
- Relevant IT training or professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or equivalent technical credentials are preferred
- Strategic technology planning and tactical problem-solving ability
- Strong integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, accountability, collaboration, adaptability, and service orientation
