About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Recruit eligible donors for first-time platelet donations to meet collection goals and inventory needs
  • Develop and implement targeted recruitment strategies to increase first-time donations, repeat participation, and long-term donor retention
  • Educate and guide donors and staff on platelet donation and recruitment best practices
  • Engage donors through in-field interactions and targeted, individualized outreach
  • Visit donor centers and mobile blood drives regularly to recruit eligible first-time platelet donors
  • Collaborate with collection staff and support donor engagement initiatives
  • Provide progress and outcome updates to leadership and internal partners
  • Partner with Collections leadership to monitor platelet counts, identify recruitment opportunities, and coordinate strategies
  • Implement donor follow-up practices, including thank-you calls and satisfaction surveys
  • Analyze organizational data to identify trends, recruitment opportunities, and operational inefficiencies
  • Recommend evidence-based improvements to donor recruitment and retention
  • Assist with donor and staff promotional initiatives in partnership with the Donor Marketing team
  • Educate staff, peers, and newly onboarded team members on platelet donation recruitment strategies and best practices
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and foster collaboration across departments
  • Identify process improvements and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and donor experience
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 1–2 years of experience in sales, account management, recruitment, customer service, healthcare, or a related field preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn organizational systems, databases, and other software applications
  • Valid local driver’s license required and must be maintained
  • Knowledge of sales and/or customer acquisition, customer engagement, healthcare, or blood industry processes preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, influencing, and stakeholder interaction skills
  • Demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy in complex or sensitive situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
