About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a lead analyst on assigned balance sheet and statement of activities accounts
- Record journal entries
- Analyze, reconcile, and document processes in runbooks
- Oversee reconciliation of working capital
- Liaise between NYU's real estate portfolio and accounting to ensure proper recording and reconciliation
- Act as point person for intercompany processes and transactions
- Identify process improvement projects and propose solutions
- Provide ongoing assistance to internal and external customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years relevant experience with audit, analysis and reconciliation of large, complex bank accounts, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal abilities and ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels
- Ability to analyze problems, implement effective management solutions, and establish priorities
- Advanced knowledge of Excel spreadsheet and database software
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles as they apply to banking transactions
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft, Fame, or Workday financials preferred
- Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- CPA preferred
