About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a portfolio of contested foreclosure cases assigned by management.
- Support Contested Foreclosure Specialists and legal firms by appearing in-person and telephonically as a records custodian and fact witness at trials, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings.
- Travel to in-person trials when telephonic testimony is not permitted.
- Read, review, and interpret mortgage loan documents for contested foreclosure matters.
- Settle cases within assigned settlement authority parameters.
- Process attorney requests for settlement authority, check requests, and other items needed to resolve suits.
- Coordinate with firms on discovery requests, including admissions, interrogatories, and document production.
- Research pertinent points of law affecting recovery efforts.
- Provide information support to legal recovery efforts.
- Identify and escalate liability issues, issues above authority level, and problematic trends.
- Process correspondence received on accounts assigned to attorneys.
- Track actions, discovery, witness requirements, and obligations through Black Knight (LoanSphere), Finastra Fusion Servicing Director, or another tracking database.
- Coordinate with management and team members to ensure appearances are covered.
- Assist with special projects and additional duties assigned by management.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent, required.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
- 5+ years direct foreclosure or mortgage servicing related experience required.
- Experience in the legal field with law firm desired.
- 3+ years in litigation resolution experience required.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to meet individual and team case management goals.
- Ability to multitask and be goal oriented.
- Ability to work on a team or independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel more than 50% of the time.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Ability to take direction from Foreclosure Teammates to provide accurate testimony.
- Ability to work effectively remotely and while traveling.
- Smart phone meeting Company security standards and able to install apps such as Microsoft Authenticator; employment is contingent on this requirement.
