About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Advise and support Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and ERG Leadership Council
  • Coordinate and drive participation in events, days of observation, and Community Investment programs, particularly ERG programming
  • Expand and support measurable impact of inclusivity and empowerment on business outcomes through Newrez’s DEI Initiative
  • Develop, build, and maintain relationships with external organizations and networks
  • Partner with Recruiting and HR to create goal-driven strategies supporting attraction, retention, and promotion of underrepresented demographics
  • Implement programs that embrace diversity and create inclusivity
  • Research and propose DEI best practices, innovative approaches, and industry peer programs to the Manager of DEI
  • Collaborate with Newrez NOW to implement inclusive giving campaigns and volunteer opportunities
  • Participate in select industry events and represent the organization professionally
  • Measure and report status and metrics of Community Investment programs, projects, and activities, emphasizing DEI
  • Support external partnerships with nonprofits and professional organizations
  • Assist internal teams with special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Travel may be required up to 20%, with seasonal fluctuations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Supervisory experience with at least 2 years' experience in project management, logistics, program administration or event management required
  • Demonstrated understanding of DEI concepts and practices, including experience working with underrepresented groups and creating inclusive environments
  • Experience in community organizing and coalition-building
  • Ability to clearly articulate and present ideas and findings to varied audiences, including operations staff and senior leadership
  • Ability to establish rapport and relate sensitively to a multiracial and multicultural group of partners
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team
  • Ability to speak publicly and present information to large and small groups
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt and work flexibly among teams with different stakeholders and objectives
  • Self-motivated, creative thinker with excellent organizational skills
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Conflict management/resolution capabilities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Strong skills in MS Office Suite
  • All employees must have smartphones meeting Company security standards and be able to install apps such as Microsoft Authenticator
  • Experience with Event Planning is a plus
  • Experience with writing newsletters, articles and social media posts preferred
  • Photo and video-editing experience helpful
