About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • File timely and accurate claims and compile complete claims packages for MI, government, and/or investor (GSE) reimbursement claims
  • Perform claims-related post-sale functions, including property preservation and eviction updates, conveyance of title, title delivery, and required documentation compilation
  • Adhere to GSE (Freddie and Fannie) servicing requirements during the reimbursement timeframe
  • Review and monitor claim due dates and other claim-related deliverables
  • Perform forensic reviews of servicing from default through claim filing to identify key data elements and claimable expenses
  • Review servicing notes, monthly servicing reports, timelines, supporting documents, and claim details for accuracy and sufficiency
  • Monitor and communicate servicing updates to maintain claim eligibility and guideline adherence
  • Perform post-sale servicing functions under MI, investor, HUD/VA/USDA guidelines
  • Respond accurately and promptly to internal and external requests for information and documentation
  • Research and resolve issues arising during post-sale and claim timelines
  • Reconcile claim proceeds, file supplemental claims, and track deferments
  • Manage time-dependent deliverables across multiple claim types
  • Identify trends affecting claims efficiency, quality, and accuracy
  • Assist with special and seasonal projects, including audits and year-end activities
  • Perform other duties assigned by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years’ claims filing experience required
  • Default-related mortgage servicing experience required
  • Knowledge of FHA/VA/USDA default servicing guidelines required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Familiarity with GSE and government loan servicing guidelines
  • Experience reviewing processes, reports, and/or documents with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders, vendors, and peers
  • Excellent problem resolution and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Self-motivated with ability to work under timelines without direct supervision
  • Smart phone meeting Company security standards and ability to install apps such as Microsoft Authenticator
  • College degree preferred
  • Proven or other Claim System experience preferred
