About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build relationships with district-level key decision makers and drive new business and expansion in the small-medium business market
- Sell Newsela’s suite of assessment, data warehousing, and MTSS products
- Manage pipeline and forecast sales
- Design lead-generation campaigns
- Manage sales through the entire lifecycle
- Develop territory business plans and evaluate funding landscapes
- Tailor sales strategies to district initiatives
- Own the assigned territory and manage the full sales lifecycle
- Build new business relationships that bring Schoolytics solutions to classrooms
- Achieve individual revenue targets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale the national sales organization
- Meet virtually with school and district leaders, present solutions, negotiate terms, and secure agreements
- Drive expansion and adoption of Schoolytics products
- Represent the company in the market and make recommendations affecting strategy and results
- Independently manage priorities and exercise discretion in evaluating customer needs, structuring solutions, and negotiating within established guidelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of full-cycle K-12 EdTech sales experience, with a track record of hitting or exceeding large sales quotas
- Experience selling core curriculum, assessment, data warehouse, and/or MTSS in the K-12 EdTech market
- Extensive experience in networking, prospecting, pipeline generation, and forecasting business in the EdTech industry
- Demonstrated experience as a strategic territory manager with executive presence to lead consultative district conversations, navigate multiple stakeholders, and engineer customer solutions
- Experience with high-volume district sales and building a book of business from scratch
- Ability to drive sales quickly to a close and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to meet established sales goals in an agile environment
- Willingness to travel approximately 25%, depending on business and customer needs
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet customer and business needs; majority of accounts are in Eastern and Central time zones
- Experience using AI tools to drive efficiency and productivity
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check
- Exempt salaried role; not eligible for overtime
