About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Visit delinquent mortgage borrowers at their homes to collect payments or negotiate payment arrangements
Help borrowers remain in their homes and prevent foreclosure
Conduct in-person site visits
Verify property occupancy
Maintain required signage and take property photos when necessary
Secure immediate payments
Set up future payment schedules and structure recovery options for past-due mortgages
Maintain communication with borrowers after payment to help prevent future delinquency
Coordinate and communicate with the internal collections department
Manage daily routes
Log customer disputes and track account statuses
Coordinate updates with the internal office team
Meet or exceed monthly performance and monetary collection goals
Spend most of the day driving throughout the greater Houston area and having in-person conversations with borrowers experiencing financial stress

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 2 years of collections experience
Door-to-door or field collections experience is highly preferred
Fully bilingual in English and Spanish
Reliable personal transportation to cover large multi-county routes
Texas Driver's License required
Advanced negotiation skills
Ability to handle high-stress objections
Ability to balance empathy with professional firmness
