About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage daily AML/BSA compliance reports, systems, and tasks
- Supervise BSA/AML staff, assess performance and training needs, delegate assignments, and provide coaching
- Perform secondary reviews and serve as the first escalation point for BSA/AML staff
- Ensure tasks are completed timely and in compliance with regulatory requirements and bank policies
- Produce accurate department reporting and KPIs
- Review BSA/AML alerts and investigate questionable activity
- Prepare and review CTRs, SARs, and related FinCEN reporting
- Support AML/BSA software testing, parameter reviews, and system validations
- Support audits and state and federal examinations
- Maintain case documentation and analyze transactional data for suspicious activity
- Review subpoenas, exempt/non-exempt customer reviews, 314(a)/(b) requests, and Section 311 reviews
- Maintain procedures, task lists, BSA/KYC records, and high-risk customer documentation
- Conduct enhanced due diligence and high-risk customer reviews
- Support project plans and ensure deliverables meet target dates
- Prepare risk assessments, Board reports, SAR reports, and KPI statistics
- Assist with AML/BSA training and deliver employee education
- Liaise with BSA/AML solution vendors and collaborate cross-functionally on process improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent plus 3-5 years’ banking experience
- Previous experience in BSA/AML required
- CAMS preferred; if not available, must be willing to obtain certification within Bank specified timeframe
- Specialized knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, Money Laundering Control Act, OFAC, FATF, PEP regulations, and associated regulations and interpretations
- Familiarity with Fraud/BSA/AML detection systems preferred
- Prior supervisory experience a plus
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Strong communication skills with colleagues and management
- Detail-oriented with strong customer focus
- Strong research, investigative, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to listen well and follow instructions
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite products
