About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee daily dining and guest services to ensure resident, guest, and client satisfaction
  • Monitor dining rooms, service areas, and workstations for cleanliness, organization, stocking, and service readiness
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for safety, sanitation, and operational compliance
  • Report equipment concerns and assist with repair or replacement coordination
  • Maintain working schedules at least two weeks in advance and assist with staffing coverage
  • Provide hands-on coverage during meal periods, staffing gaps, opening, and closing
  • Communicate schedule updates, staffing concerns, call-offs, and coverage needs to management
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, quality control, vendor relationships, and inventory management
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, food handling, uniform, attendance, productivity, and customer service standards
  • Plan, coordinate, set up, service, and break down special events and catering functions
  • Supervise event team members and ensure responsibilities are completed properly and on time
  • Assist with food production, plating, meal service, and other operational duties
  • Monitor final presentation of food, beverages, dining areas, and service quality
  • Respond to resident, guest, family, and client concerns and escalate unresolved issues
  • Follow labor budgets, purchasing guidelines, cost-control procedures, and maintain financial and operational records
  • Track food and supply usage, waste, shortages, expenses, and inventory discrepancies
  • Lead, supervise, train, coach, onboard, and support servers, utility workers, cooks, and other assigned team members
  • Assign responsibilities, monitor performance, provide feedback, and address employee concerns
  • Promote a professional, respectful, inclusive, and team-oriented workplace
  • Perform additional assigned duties supporting department operations

Requirements

  • 1 - 3 years’ experience in similar position
  • Specialized training in catering
