About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage complex environmental permitting projects across multiple energy technologies, states, and regulatory jurisdictions
- Supervise and develop a small team of up to 2 direct reports
- Participate in leadership discussions and strategic project decision-making
- Identify regional risks, trends, constraints, and permitting challenges and escalate issues when needed
- Communicate permitting risks, regulatory developments, stakeholder concerns, and project execution strategies to leadership
- Advise project teams on environmental siting, permitting pathways, agency engagement, and regulatory compliance
- Maintain relationships with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies and external stakeholders
- Support consistent permitting strategies, lessons learned, and environmental best practices
- Monitor regulatory and policy developments and assess impacts on development activities
- Align environmental strategy with project schedules, commercial objectives, and regulatory requirements
- Support high-priority projects requiring advanced permitting strategy and stakeholder engagement
- Perform environmental due diligence reviews, compliance audits, and licensing and permitting activities
- Translate regulations and permits into construction compliance tasks
- Obtain permit modifications and new permits for construction and maintenance activities
- Provide guidance on alternatives to minimize environmental impacts
- Track and analyze environmental construction compliance metrics
- Review emerging legislation and regulations and contribute to company policies and regulatory positions
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree
- 15+ years of experience
- Expertise across major environmental regulations, including the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and National Historic Preservation Act
- Experience supporting permitting and development for complex infrastructure projects
- Experience with sensitive environmental resources such as wetlands and waters of the United States
- Ability to evaluate regulatory risk and develop mitigation strategies
- Strength in stakeholder engagement and navigating complex or high-visibility issues
- Ability to work in the Juno Beach, Florida office or remotely from within the United States with periodic travel to Juno Beach and project locations
- Ability to support projects across multiple states and regulatory jurisdictions
