About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute category strategies and plans to achieve cost competitiveness and supply security
  • Lead RFP sourcing, obtain and evaluate proposals, and ensure compliance with project specifications and timelines
  • Negotiate project-specific terms and conditions
  • Lead development and contracting of project-specific equipment and service agreements
  • Support Commercial Operations in preparing Project Risk Assessment Matrices
  • Identify geopolitical, economic, and environmental supply-chain risks and mitigations
  • Research and analyze market trends, raw material costs, and technology roadmaps
  • Drive cost-reduction initiatives through should-cost modeling, total-cost-of-ownership analysis, pricing history, market analysis, and global supplier networks
  • Lead quarterly business reviews with key suppliers
  • Track and report supplier quality and performance
  • Define and monitor category KPIs, including supplier on-time delivery, quality, lead time, savings, and risk indicators
  • Partner with Commercial Operations, Engineering, and Legal to align equipment supply and service agreements with customer contracts
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in category management and supplier management
  • 3+ years of experience in the renewable industry
  • BESS experience preferred
  • Experience managing projects to support strategic procurement goals
  • Proven track record developing and executing category strategies and delivering measurable cost, quality, and risk improvements
  • Good understanding of LV/MV power distribution components, including switchgear, inverters, transformers, and motor drives
  • Strong negotiation, contracting, and communication skills
  • Experience working closely with Engineering and Product teams
  • Good understanding of product development cycles and technical requirements
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
  • Proficiency in e-procurement tools such as Coupa or Ariba
  • Ability to perform regular standing and walking, frequent lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
