About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and grow a NinjaOne software development team
- Build new features and maintain existing features for the NinjaOne IT Operations SaaS suite
- Work with internal teams on the software product roadmap and delivery
- Collaborate with product management and platform engineering teams
- Own product technology, engineering growth and development, and successful product delivery
- Provide full-stack software development technical expertise
- Provide subject matter expertise in code reviews, integration, and deployment events
- Lead technology direction and remain hands-on as needed
- Lead and grow distributed remote UI and server development teams
- Mentor team members and provide feedback
- Ensure alignment across UI, mobile, server, and agent technical teams
- Identify gaps and improvements in implementations and team operations
- Collaborate with project managers, product owners, and business stakeholders
- Develop valuable requirements and project vision
- Follow NinjaOne software development best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or another relevant technical engineering degree; equivalent relevant work experience will also be considered
- 10+ years of cumulative software development experience in distributed client-server architectures, including hands-on software engineering experience
- 3+ years of direct software engineering management experience
- Expertise in software design and architecture, including CI/CD, modern web UI development, caching systems, key-value database systems, API development, and code quality best practices
- Experience adhering to security best practices
- Experience driving continuous code and system improvement through refactoring and critical thinking
- Experience providing feedback on team members' design choices
- Experience supervising, training, and mentoring engineering developers
- Ability to lead and support a remote team
- Must reside in an eligible U.S. state; NinjaOne is unable to hire within Chicago city limits
