About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and implement scalable solutions and platform improvements for NinjaOne's IT Operations product suite
Develop new features and support existing functionality
Design and develop high-availability software systems supporting global operations
Lead development of large-scale software applications
Influence critical architectural decisions and balance technical debt, performance, scalability, and business needs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical decisions and improvements
Mentor junior engineers and establish technical standards
Own technical initiatives and proactively address challenges based on support-team data
Implement quality assurance practices and deliver robust, high-performance software
Contribute additional responsibilities as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience
10+ years of experience in Java software development, particularly for product applications
5+ years of experience with highly scalable systems
Proven experience scaling systems and solving complex system design challenges
Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) design principles and practices
Expertise in API design and RESTful services
Experience using frameworks like Spring
Proficiency in relational database design and development
Experience with caching systems
Experience with Java, Kotlin, C++, Golang, and Postgres is beneficial
Experience running scalable cloud services in AWS is beneficial
Data warehouse exposure and testing/automation tooling are a plus
Must reside in one of the listed eligible U.S. states
