About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and implement scalable new solutions and product improvements for NinjaOne’s IT Operations product suite
Develop high-quality software applications for the SaaS backup and recovery platform
Deliver robust features across backup, archive, restore, and download services
Contribute to new feature development, product enhancements, and ongoing production-system support
Design and develop high-availability, mission-critical software systems
Develop Java and Kotlin software applications
Maintain quality-first standards and support engineering quality practices
Collaborate with scrum teams and engineering teams in the USA and Asia
Drive the product roadmap
Own design and architecture in collaboration with NinjaOne technology leadership
Mentor the global engineering team on scalable solutions
Commit code and ship enterprise-level software products
Implement design patterns and solve large-scale software challenges

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience
10+ years of experience in Java software development for product applications or equivalent
4+ years of experience working with highly scalable software systems
Solid expertise in Kotlin
Experience with C# and Ruby is a plus
Experience working on systems at scale and finding solutions to scale systems
Working knowledge of OOP design principles
Expertise in scaling data structures and object-oriented design
Knowledge of API best practices and REST service development using Jersey or Spring
Relational database design and development experience
Experience with Big Data, SQL tuning, and ETL is a plus
Caching systems expertise and experience with Redis
Experience with Kafka and data streaming is a plus
Expert knowledge of quality testing practices
Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with ability to present ideas
Values aligned with being a team of experts, problem solvers, and collaborators
Experience working with global teams in different time zones is a plus
High adaptability to rapid changes
Must reside in one of the specified U.S. states
