About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Influence critical architectural decisions and oversee implementation of complex technical solutions
- Ensure long-term sustainability and scalability of software systems while balancing technical debt, performance, and business needs
- Make high-impact technical decisions with minimal oversight
- Evaluate trade-offs and set technical direction across the domain
- Partner with product, infrastructure, and engineering teams on technical decisions
- Mentor and elevate engineers across the organization
- Establish technical standards and best practices
- Own complex, multi-team technical initiatives
- Identify challenges, drive resolutions, and incorporate customer support and operational data
- Champion and implement quality assurance practices
- Design and develop high-availability software systems supporting global operations
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- 12+ years of experience in Java software development, particularly for product applications
- 5+ years of experience designing and operating highly scalable systems
- Proven experience solving complex system design challenges at scale
- Expertise in API design and RESTful services, with experience using frameworks like Spring (Spring Boot) or Jersey
- Strong command of object-oriented programming (OOP) design principles and practices
- Proficiency in relational database design and development
- 2+ years of experience with Kotlin is a plus
- Experience with caching systems, particularly Redis, is a plus
- In-depth knowledge of quality testing practices and a track record of delivering high-quality software
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience
- Must reside in one of the listed U.S. states
- This position is NOT eligible for Visa sponsorship
