About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Investigate hardware failures on Nokia Optics products returned from the field through root cause analyses
  • Establish corrective and preventive actions
  • Collaborate with problem escalation teams to analyze field-reported hardware issues
  • Use sophisticated AI tools to find patterns and correlations
  • Partner with customer quality teams to collect and analyze field-failure data
  • Work with the Nokia Reliability team on in-depth root-cause analyses, including chemical-related issues such as corrosion, and assist in assessing field risks
  • Engage Nokia component suppliers to investigate failures, identify root causes, and define corrective and preventive actions
  • Conduct horizontal analyses to determine whether similar failures exist in other Nokia Optics products
  • Collaborate with hardware design teams to incorporate lessons learned into new designs and improve product reliability
  • Provide clear and concise updates to internal stakeholders and management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong knowledge of optical communication products and standard optical testing strategies
  • Proficiency in circuit design and troubleshooting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to provide clear updates to management and explain complex technical issues to non-technical audiences
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple challenges simultaneously
