About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and own L1 applications, including control-path and data-path applications, or platform support for cards/chassis
Develop related device-driver software and features
Work closely with requirements and customer account teams with deep customer focus
Drive and develop system-wide-impact features from architecture and design through delivery
Develop embedded software products in an AI-first, cross-functional, agile R&D team
Work across much of Nokia’s product portfolio to build broad system understanding
Design end-to-end solutions for communications frameworks and data-path setups spanning digital packet and optical channel areas
Customize in-house or third-party solutions to meet customer needs
Directly address customer queries and live customer issues
Deliver new features on time and with the required quality using continuous-integration pipelines and automated test suites following TDD

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree or higher from premier institutions
Stellar programming skills in one or more of C, C++, Golang, Shell scripting, or Python
Some work experience in software development on embedded/Linux platforms is preferable
Quick learner of software architecture and module design
Capacity to connect the dots in complex legacy code while developing new features
Knowledge of software system design, inter-process communication, threading, and other OS concepts
Knowledge of boot processes on X86 processors with multi-OS support, U-Boot, and coreboot
Some experience with BSPs and board provisioning/bring-up
Knowledge of PCI, PCIe, SPI, DMA, and I2C protocols
BCM switch programming knowledge
Working knowledge of IP stack drivers and io-pkt driver
Experience with automated testing in a software development environment
