About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review customer-facing specification proposals for Nokia’s coherent optical modules, identify yield concerns, and propose resolutions
  • Trace requirements to key components including photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and high-speed driver/TIA
  • Perform statistical data analysis on large data sets to characterize and improve product capability
  • Identify opportunities to automate analyses and workflow tasks
  • Maintain product engineering infrastructure and ensure specification traceability to the manufacturing line
  • Drive product-performance improvements during the prototype phase
  • Identify opportunities to increase product volumes and/or reduce cost during the volume phase
  • Support development and introduction of next-generation coherent optical pluggable modules and 800G pluggable products

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (electronics, electro-optics, communications), Photonics, or Physics (optics, semiconductors)
  • Experience with coherent optical system concepts and measurement methods is desirable
  • Ability to work with a large body of data, write data-manipulation scripts, and perform statistical analysis
  • Comfortable presenting data and making proposals to technical audiences
  • Team oriented with ability to work cross-functionally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
