About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and deliver technical product presentations and demonstrations
  • Manage and interpret customer requirements by understanding, anticipating, and meeting customer needs
  • Explain how products or design solutions satisfy customer requirements for reliability, scalability, price, and delivery
  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events
  • Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
  • Convey customer feature requirements to corporate Product Line Management teams
  • Travel throughout the sales region
  • Develop and grow long-term customer relationships
  • Produce customer-orderable quotations
  • Provide after-sales support services
  • Liaise with sales team members and other technical experts
  • Provide training and produce support material for sales team members
  • Act as the primary technical resource supporting sales managers and drive the technology proposition and evaluation stage of the sales process

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in optical and transmission systems engineering, with strong knowledge of telecommunications, especially long-haul DWDM transmission systems
  • Experience in mobile and access systems engineering, including mobile backhaul and fronthaul
  • Exceptional presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Telecommunication network planning across long-haul, metro, and access networks
  • Ability to take concepts through the design cycle, including solution development and cost modelling
  • Excellent writing, communication, social, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong knowledge of long-haul, metro, access, and mobile technologies
  • 3–5+ years of relevant experience in vendor sales engineering
  • Experience and familiarity with Infinera products desirable
