About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Coordinate internal teams with the Project Manager to ensure deliverables are completed within specified timescales
Interact with clients to determine requirements, agree solutions, review and agree test plans, and present results
Produce high-level designs from bid technical proposals and finalize designs during projects
Create project documentation, including design, integration, test, configuration, training, installation, and handover documents
Define and review configurations to match design objectives with support from internal teams
Troubleshoot issues through independent investigation and coordination with other internal teams
Act as third-line support to internal teams
Manage handover to clients or in-house support staff, including training
Coordinate technical delivery from solution design and documentation through implementation, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting

Requirements

What you’ll need

Understanding of TCP/IP networking, LAN and VLAN IP planning
User knowledge of Linux
At least 3 years of hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting network devices including switches, routers, and access points
Remote management experience
Very good communication skills, both technical and user facing, in English
Good documentation skills
Experience creating system schematics, bills of materials, test documents, and technical processes and procedures
Thorough and logical approach to planning
Good knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of mobile data networks and general technical hybrid Telecom & IT experience
Knowledge of certification requirements for railway
Linux REDHAT certified or Debian certified
Degree level in Electrical, Electronic, IT, Computing Engineering, or a related subject
Understanding of IT/Telecom Operations and Maintenance procedures
Knowledge of antenna design and antenna placement
RF Telecom knowledge
Experience working in the rail/transportation sector, with understanding of Operations and Maintenance
Wi-Fi and/or RF planning and implementation
Experience with hardware integration, interface definition, and reviewing
Experience working with Puppet and Zabbix
Experience with VMs
Experience with security and penetration testing
Occasional extended international travel may be required
