About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own end-to-end delivery of 3–5 concurrent IT projects/workstreams from requirements through build, test, deployment, and BAU handoff
- Drive sprint/release planning with engineering leads, including backlog grooming, velocity, and blocker resolution
- Own project plans, RAID logs, milestone trackers, and cross-team dependencies
- Partner with engineering/QA on SDLC rigor, code review gates, test coverage, and release management
- Translate regulatory requirements into delivery plans and track execution
- Manage project budget/run-rate, resourcing, and vendor SOW execution
- Drive AI tooling adoption to automate SDLC and project-management tasks
- Serve as primary contact for business/Risk Management stakeholders
- Manage expectations, elicit requirements, and validate scope changes
- Own project status reporting, dashboards, and steering committee packs
- Manage change requests and impact assessments through sign-off
- Coordinate UAT planning, business readiness, and go-live communications
- Feed status and risk into programme-level governance
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10–15 years IT project delivery experience in financial services
- Hands-on Market Risk/Credit Risk/Trading Tech experience
- Track record delivering regulatory IT projects (FRTB, BCBS 239, SA-CCR, or equivalent) to production
- Comfortable working directly with engineering/QA on SDLC mechanics
- Advanced hands-on Jira/Confluence (workflows, dashboards, reporting)
- Clear stakeholder communication — status packs, risk escalation, options framing
- Working quant fluency (VaR, CVA, P&L explain)
- Structured RAID/dependency management
- Working knowledge of budget tracking
- Power user of AI tools; builds/shares reusable AI workflows for project artefacts
- Awareness of data governance/regulatory constraints for AI use in a regulated environment
