About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take ownership of product compliance activities across the full product lifecycle
- Interpret and apply international regulations and standards, including CE, the EU Machinery Directive, EMC, OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, SEMI, and FDA requirements
- Partner with Engineering teams to incorporate compliance and safety requirements into product design and development
- Ensure components and materials comply with RoHS, REACH, UL, FCC, and Conflict Minerals requirements
- Maintain technical files, compliance documentation, certification records, and declarations of conformity
- Act as the compliance subject matter expert across Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Supply Chain functions
- Manage relationships with external certification bodies and regulatory agencies
- Support trade compliance activities, including HTS classification, Country of Origin (COO), ECCN, OGEL, and SIEL licensing requirements
- Develop, implement, and monitor compliance-related business processes
- Travel regularly between UK sites, approximately 25%
Requirements
What you’ll need- Engineering degree or equivalent experience
- 2-3+ years' experience in product compliance, regulatory engineering, or a similar role
- Experience supporting compliance activities within product development teams
- Knowledge of machinery safety and regulatory requirements for electro-mechanical systems
- Experience using SISTEMA, Safeexpert, or equivalent safety analysis tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical engineering solutions
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
