About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the regulatory and compliance legal expert in client engagements
- Interpret and apply laws and regulations to provide personalized legal guidance
- Guide client onboarding and lifecycle engagement to maximize platform value and align with business objectives
- Analyze legal and regulatory documents and prepare collateral for tailored legal solutions
- Provide actionable advice specific to clients’ industries and organizational goals
- Connect regulatory and administrative requirements to the platform’s capabilities and clients’ legal obligations
- Tailor automated legal analysis of regulations to client-specific needs using internal tools
- Obtain, organize, and present client feedback to shape legal product enhancements and improve compliance outcomes
- Prepare presentations, demos, and legal collateral communicating complex legal concepts accessibly
- Identify and resolve potential client issues with internal teams
- Collaborate with Client Engagement, Sales, Legal Engineering, and AI Engineering teams
- Conduct in-person, on-site client sessions, typically in the NYC metro area
- Produce metrics-driven materials supporting strategic initiatives and Norm Ai’s mission
- Lead client engagement from onboarding through renewal, driving renewals and upsells
Requirements
What you’ll need- Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- 4 years as a lawyer working on regulatory enforcement and compliance matters for the financial sector
- 4+ years of experience using Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, Westlaw, LexisNexis, Intelligize, Bloomberg Law, SEC EDGAR, PACER, Relativity, DISCO, TAR, iManage, Adobe Acrobat, and Litera Compare
- Significant experience working with legal professionals, compliance officers, or in highly regulated industries such as financial services or insurance
- Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to convey complex legal and regulatory concepts in a client-friendly manner
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex client relationships
- Highly independent and comfortable operating as an individual contributor
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills
- Willingness to adapt, taking on both leadership and supportive roles as needed
- Practical, hands-on AI usage in day-to-day work, including the ability to demonstrate tools, workflows, and outcomes
- Prior experience in compliance consulting or regulatory advisory roles is a nice-to-have
- Background in AI-powered technologies or legal technology platforms is a nice-to-have
- Experience at a venture-backed company is a nice-to-have
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks applicable to financial services or similar sectors is a nice-to-have
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Must be located in New York City
