About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead process technology development activities for the concrete spraying process
Develop concrete spraying processes and technology
Contribute to SmartSpray, an automated robotic concrete spraying solution
Contribute to NorSmart, a machine control system and software
Contribute to SmartScan, an environmental sensing and measuring system
Develop automatic process monitoring
Support VR Simulator development
Work as a key member of Normet’s R&D organization
Collaborate with the concrete spraying development group and vice president of product line
Work with automation, mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, and control systems engineering teams
Test new products and features in an underground environment
Interact and collaborate with customers and global engineering professionals
Travel occasionally

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least five years of working experience as a leading engineer in a relevant field, such as mobile machinery or automation
Analytical thinking to develop new technologies in concrete spraying
Holistic approach to optimizing the sprayed concrete process
At least five years of working experience with 3D design, preferably Autodesk Inventor, and ability for 3D concept designing
Experience in automation and control systems is an advantage
Experience of modern mobile hydraulic systems/system design is an advantage
Experience in 3D scanning/mapping technology is an advantage
Project management skills and ability to handle pressure
Good communication skills in English; Finnish is an asset
Master of Science (Tech.) or Bachelor of Engineering in a relevant field
Ability to work with a global network of people with different personalities and cultural backgrounds
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Determined, can-do, results-driven attitude
Willingness to take responsibility and ownership
Openness to learning new skills related to concrete spraying
Willingness to test new products and features in an underground environment and interact with customers
