About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and oversee plant projects supporting safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations
  • Oversee the plant’s automation program
  • Design, plan, coordinate, and schedule projects improving plant capabilities, reliability, and returns
  • Work with Maintenance, Operations, Corporate resources, contractors, and external vendors
  • Design or modify mechanical and control systems for new or existing equipment
  • Direct controls engineers in building machine control software for proper machine operation
  • Lead and support continuous improvement projects to increase automation efficiency and uptime
  • Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams on automation upgrades and maintenance programs
  • Create and maintain documentation for equipment, programs, and procedures
  • Ensure awareness and compliance with Health & Safety objectives and PPE standards
  • Attend required training
  • Assign projects to Plant PLC Technicians/Specialists, provide direction, and review progress in cooperation with the Maintenance Supervisor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 3 years of project engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in Rockwell, AutoCAD, and program management software
  • Ability to fully utilize MS Office Products, ACAD/Solid works software and MS Project
  • Ability to design or modify mechanical and control systems for new or existing equipment
  • Ability to direct controls engineers in building machine control software
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic design, troubleshooting, and start-up (preferred)
  • Work experience in relatively high-speed manufacturing and robotics (preferred)
  • Basic proficiency with AutoCAD software (preferred)
  • Proficient in Rockwell Automation programs (preferred)
