About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate overhead cranes to safely move aluminum products, racks, bundles, and materials throughout the packing and production areas
- Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and immediately report equipment defects, malfunctions, or safety concerns
- Supply packing stations with required materials and efficiently remove scrap or completed product to support production flow
- Follow safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements and job safety analyses (JSAs)
- Participate in daily safety meetings
- Maintain a clean and organized work area through housekeeping and 5S practices
- Assist with packing, banding, and other production activities when crane operation duties are not required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to operate an overhead crane safely and efficiently in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Ability to understand, speak, and follow basic verbal and written instructions in English
- Ability to complete pre-use equipment inspections and accurately identify and report safety or equipment issues
- Ability to work standing for extended periods and perform frequent climbing, reaching, walking, and lifting within OSHA guidelines
- Ability to read, understand, and consistently follow work instructions, safety procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Previous overhead crane operating experience in a manufacturing, extrusion, metals, or industrial production environment (preferred)
- Experience supporting packaging, shipping, or material handling operations (preferred)
- Familiarity with 5S, housekeeping standards, and continuous improvement practices (preferred)
- Experience conducting equipment inspections and basic troubleshooting (preferred)
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe material handling practices (preferred)
