About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner
- Perform daily pre-shift equipment inspections
- Report property damage
- Operate the forklift safely and efficiently
- Remove scrap from saws and presses
- Empty butt hoppers
- Load scrap into trailers, separating it by alloy and maximizing load density
- Maintain full log tables with the proper size and alloy as requested by press operators
- Unload log trucks upon arrival
- Maintain and organize log tables and the log yard
- Work efficiently while unsupervised
- Ensure smooth transitions during shift changes
- Follow pedestrian right-of-way safety requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to work any shift
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to safely lift up to 100 lbs. repetitively with a partner
- Previous experience in Extrusion Operation preferred
- Knowledge of extrusion process and quality measures preferred
- HSD or GED preferred
- Ability to work as a team
- Adaptable to change
- Ability to prioritize needs
