About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Participate as a key contributor to management of the assigned department
Direct the work of two or more full-time employees or equivalent
Manage employee performance and provide input on hiring, advancement, and termination decisions
Lead the team to drive productivity, safety, and quality excellence
Align team goals with department production goals
Optimize processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Foster a safety culture and ensure alignment with department and organization-wide objectives
Oversee the department in the Manager’s absence
Set production objectives, safety priorities, and operational updates with the department Manager
Direct Team Leads and hourly team members and hold employees accountable
Manage workforce planning, staffing, scheduling, and overtime
Ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety regulations and company policies
Lead and optimize production activities to achieve strategic goals and KPIs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, with a minimum of 1 year in a leadership or supervisory capacity
Proven experience in aluminum extrusion, casting, or related industries is highly preferred
In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and process optimization techniques
English (both spoken and written); additional language(s) preferred
Travel less than 10%
In-depth knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
Experience with manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems for data analysis and reporting
Expertise in safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing environments
Ability to interpret technical drawings and use measurement tools (e.g., tape measure)
Extensive hands-on experience with industrial equipment and tools, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and process optimization
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate teams
Strong leadership qualities with a commitment to employee engagement and continuous improvement
