About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and related automation equipment
- Perform basic wiring, PLC, and HMI setup
- Assist in wiring and installation of PLC hardware
- Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting under supervision
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and PLC I/O diagrams
- Support senior technicians in system testing and commissioning
- Maintain documentation and logs of work performed
- Configure, scale, and troubleshoot analog signals and instrumentation
- Perform basic PLC program uploads, downloads, and online monitoring
- Use multimeters and basic electrical testing equipment
Requirements
What you’ll need- 0-5 years of experience troubleshooting and supporting PLC-controlled equipment
- Basic understanding of ladder logic troubleshooting and fault isolation techniques
- Knowledge of industrial sensors, transmitters, and control devices
- Familiarity with digital and analog I/O configuration and verification
- Basic knowledge of industrial communication networks and PLC-to-device communications
- Experience using Allen-Bradley RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000 software or similar PLC programming platforms (preferred)
- Understanding of industrial control panel components including relays, contactors, and terminal blocks (preferred)
- Ability to interpret PLC fault codes and assist in troubleshooting automation systems (preferred)
