About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform required testing on all welded tube material and ensure results meet required specifications and tolerances
- Perform testing within suitable timeframes to support production
- Record production test results in a computer database and create tags and labels
- Follow MRT procedures for out-of-specification material
- Disposition MRT materials under the direction of the Quality Engineer and central quality lab
- Prepare samples by cutting, marking, mounting, polishing, and grinding
- Conduct product measurements using Keyence vision measurement and optical microscopes including IM, VHX, and VR
- Perform cleanliness and tensile testing for mechanical properties
- Maintain daily calibration test records for laboratory testing equipment
- Conduct gauge repeatability and capability studies
- Support the Quality Engineer by collecting measurement data for PPAP approvals and annual dimensional layout
- Audit product characteristics and production processes for compliance with specifications and quality procedures
- Recommend processing modifications to quality improvement teams
- Write work instructions and procedures for quality program requirements
- Train employees in precision measurement techniques
