About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure the reliability, maintainability, and performance of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, control systems, and safety infrastructure
  • Develop and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Optimize asset performance, reduce maintenance costs, and extend equipment life in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • Lead and support Continuous Reliability Improvement initiatives
  • Increase equipment reliability, reduce downtime, improve preventive maintenance effectiveness, and drive improvements in MTBF
  • Provide engineering expertise for day-to-day maintenance challenges
  • Identify potential equipment failures before they impact production
  • Support Total Productive Maintenance efforts
  • Improve hydraulic and pneumatic system reliability
  • Reduce breakdowns and delays and support safe, reliable plant operations
  • Develop and refine preventive/predictive maintenance programs in coordination with equipment custodians and maintenance management
  • Coordinate with planner/schedulers to ensure PM/PdM services and inspections are scheduled and performed when due
  • Administer, control, and analyze equipment data, records, and histories to refine PM/PdM frequencies
  • Develop engineering solutions to repetitive equipment failures and reliability problems
  • Review predictive inspections, equipment histories, maintenance cost reports, failure reports, service records, and work order data
  • Specify repair techniques and develop standards for major repetitive tasks
  • Ensure responsible personnel are trained in programmed maintenance
  • Review PM/PdM procedures with operations superintendents and staff and secure owner approval
  • Analyze planned equipment idleness to develop and improve PM/PdM schedules
  • Compare PM/PdM frequencies with downtime reports and equipment histories and adjust frequencies economically to avoid over-maintenance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • At least 5 years of reliability engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and increasing asset performance
  • Knowledge of CMMS, predictive maintenance, and reliability metrics such as MTBF and OEE
  • Experience supporting extrusion operations and heavy industrial manufacturing equipment
  • Experience with equipment commissioning, startup, and continuous improvement projects
