About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare proposals for solar PV, wind, battery, and natural gas projects during development
  • Prepare construction capital expenditure estimates for projects ranging from $5 million to over $800 million
  • Set up initial project schedules and budgets
  • Coordinate pre-contract activities and manage pre-construction tasks
  • Facilitate handover to the project execution team
  • Follow project execution to validate assumptions and support historical aspects of the project
  • Manage project due diligence processes
  • Contribute to business development and project execution activities throughout the project lifecycle
  • Lead early-stage project activities, including constructability reviews and design feedback
  • Provide input on contracting strategies
  • Plan resources and coordinate internal and external specialized expertise
  • Maintain relationships with EPC contractors and cultivate industry partnerships
  • Support RFP tenders for civil, mechanical, electrical, equipment, and supply agreements
  • Support EPC contract RFPs, including contract and exhibit development
  • Develop Project Execution Plans
  • Develop and maintain project budget estimates
  • Control and optimize early-stage project costs and schedules
  • Identify value-add and profitability influencers and recommend improvements to project economics
  • Integrate company governance requirements and international standards into project management
  • Create and manage schedules for EPC, BOP, and equipment contracts
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and travel to project sites and supplier facilities as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience in planning and coordinating work activities in advance of construction execution
  • Strong experience in logistics planning, cost estimating, and project controls
  • Experience in a similar role within the renewable energy sector and/or gas-powered generation projects
  • Engineering, technical, or related degree, with a minimum of 10 years of experience delivering renewable energy and gas-fired power projects
  • Strong understanding of construction practices, supported by hands-on field experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the administration and management of large-scale construction contracts
  • Familiarity with P6 and Microsoft Project
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel to project sites and vendor/equipment supplier facilities as required
