About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer and coordinate daily activities throughout the Item Processing Department
- Process and review ATM check deposits, Mobile Check Deposits, and CCX Check Deposit Files
- Monitor fraud prevention tools and balance General Ledgers and department accounts
- Support branch offices and corporate departments while monitoring system efficiency and improvement opportunities
- Review company data, build reports, and recommend processes to improve performance metrics
- Gather, interpret, and use complex data to develop actionable process improvements and optimize Item Processing Systems and the ATM fleet
- Review policies, procedures, and processes to identify areas for improvement
- Prepare departmental reports and analysis
- Monitor and maintain Item Processing Systems and ATM/VTM/TCRs and coordinate issue resolution with personnel or vendors
- Identify and resolve customer service issues and complaints
- Collaborate with business leads on deposit process functionality, system issues, inefficiencies, and business requirements
- Recommend, write, and publish processes and procedures that enhance efficiency, compliance, and customer service
- Research and evaluate training opportunities and participate in educational seminars and training
- Partner with IS and vendors on system enhancements and product implementations
- Research best practices, industry standards, and competition
- Document, track, and monitor system issues and development status
- Perform system testing and analyze resolutions and new development for business, regulatory, policy, and service-level compliance
- Generate, analyze, and report monthly ATM transaction volume and performance across the Northwest ATM Fleet and remote deposits
- Review, monitor, analyze, and balance cash orders for offsite ATMs
- Validate ATM ADA compliance and compliance with Federal, state, and local regulations
- Review/process General Ledger entries for daily surcharge income
- Complete cash orders, settlements, and balancing for corporate office ATMs
- Support consumer bank offices and departments by responding to correspondence promptly and accurately
- Assist with ATM installs, removals, upgrades, and other projects
- Complete other duties and special projects as requested by management
- Work outside core banking hours and travel for special projects, upgrades, or testing as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related experience (preferred education)
- 3–5 years of Item Processing experience (preferred)
- 3–5 years of related banking experience with heavy concentration in business/system analysis and operations/compliance (preferred)
- 5–6 years of experience performing system testing, procedure writing, and participating in product development (preferred)
- Thorough understanding of applicable regulatory guidelines, products/programs, processes, and procedures
- Ability to navigate Microsoft Office software, computer applications, and department-specific software
- Ability to work with on-site equipment
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to establish effective working relationships and participate in solving problems and making decisions
- Ability to present and express ideas and information clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
- Ability to actively listen and facilitate the open exchange of ideas and information
- Ability to plan and track work, manage time and information, and use resources effectively
- Ability to make sound decisions using perceptive and analytical processes and good judgment
- Must comply with Northwest policies and procedures and Federal/State regulations
- Must abide by safety and loss prevention rules and report injuries
