About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct conflict-of-interest research and analysis for US lateral hiring efforts
  • Review matter intake and perform corporate and database research
  • Identify potential conflicts for lawyer review
  • Respond to lawyer and staff requests for conflicts-of-interest searches
  • Review submitted information for completion and accuracy and clarify information as needed
  • Research corporate histories and corporate affiliations, including parent and subsidiary relationships
  • Use Boolean searching and search terms to query the conflicts database
  • Design effective database searches and distinguish relevant from irrelevant results
  • Review conflict reports for relevancy and relatedness
  • Independently analyze conflict reports with limited guidance
  • Work with the assigned Compliance Attorney to improve workflow accuracy and efficiency
  • Summarize potential conflicts and communicate them to the assigned Compliance Attorney
  • Develop familiarity with Global Practice Standards and policies
  • Answer inquiries regarding share dealings and related issues
  • Safeguard confidential firm business information
  • Provide exemplary client service to internal and external clients
  • Proactively promote client service across the department and teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree and one year of conflicts or legal assistant experience, or similar analyst experience in a decision-making capacity
  • In lieu of bachelor's degree, five years of conflicts or legal assistant experience, or similar analyst experience in a decision-making capacity
  • Conflicts review experience
  • Excellent oral and written business communication skills
  • Prior exposure to international business correspondence is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Willingness to learn law and fundamental principles regarding conflict of interest issues
  • Strong issue-spotting skills
  • Ability to keep firm business matters confidential
  • Proven stability and calm demeanor
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with confidence and composure

  • Strong sense of urgency and prioritization
