About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create records within the database
  • Docket or calendar due dates
  • De-docket or remove due dates when appropriate
  • Cultivate relationships and follow up with attorneys and/or paralegals regarding actions due
  • Docket and review US and foreign prosecution mail
  • Docket and review opposition, interference and/or appellate matters
  • Monitor and update attorney dockets daily
  • Maintain strong attention to approaching deadlines
  • Intake and audit transfer files
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest domestic and foreign IP rules
  • Investigate and troubleshoot docketing issues or questions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; in lieu of a degree, minimum 9 years of professional experience required
  • Experience with US and foreign trademark docketing required
  • Knowledge of docketing software applications is a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office products, including Excel and Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer service-oriented
  • Ability to work remotely and come into the office on an as-needed basis when requested by the supervisor
  • Flexibility in schedule and ability to work overtime may be required
