Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure proper and efficient operation of the station during the shift within company policy
Contribute to increased profitability and growth of the store
Meet customer needs and provide best-in-class service
Communicate store operation changes or issues to management promptly
Prepare shift reports according to company guidelines
Provide the best customer experience to every customer
Greet every customer with a smile and sincere greeting
Suggest purchases and promote specials
Execute the customer service program at the site level
Minimize safety risks to employees, customers, and suppliers
Enforce environmental and hazardous material regulations
Maintain store safety and security and document accidents or incidents
Maintain the customer environment inside and around the store perimeter
Operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently
Support implementation of the Safety and Health program
Report workplace accidents, injuries, incidents, or illnesses promptly
Complete new employee safety orientation procedures
Maintain the physical condition, safety, cleanliness, and attractiveness of store facilities
Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed
Must be able to interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be able to read, understand, and write the English language at the eighth-grade level
Ability to validate identification prior to selling tobacco and/or alcohol as required under regulations
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and carry cases of milk cartons, soft drinks, beer, and juice containers using proper lifting techniques
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
Ability to remain calm and respond according to policies and procedures during emergencies
Tolerance of exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products
Ability to work in various temperature environments
Ability to perform general housekeeping duties
Must be able to traverse and access all areas of the store
Prolonged periods of standing, sitting at a desk, and working on a computer
