About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure the proper and efficient operation of the station during the shift within company policy
- Contribute to the profitability and growth of the store
- Meet customer needs and provide best-in-class customer service
- Greet every customer with a smile and sincere greeting
- Suggest purchases and promote specials
- Assume responsibility for executing the customer service program at the site level
- Prepare a shift report at the end of the shift according to company guidelines
- Communicate store-operation changes and issues that may adversely affect operations to management
- Minimize safety risks to employees, customers, and suppliers
- Enforce environmental and hazardous material regulations
- Maintain store safety and security and document accidents or incidents
- Maintain the customer environment inside and around the store perimeter
- Operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently
- Support implementation of the Safety and Health program
- Report workplace accidents, injuries, incidents, or illnesses promptly
- Complete the new employee safety orientation procedure
- Maintain the physical condition, safety, cleanliness, and attractiveness of store facilities
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with management regarding store operations
- Must be able to interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to validate identification before selling tobacco and/or alcohol as required by regulations
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and carry cases of milk cartons, soft drinks, beer, and juice containers using proper lifting techniques
- Ability to remain calm and respond according to policies and procedures during emergencies
- Ability to tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products
- Ability to work in various temperature environments, including coolers, outdoors in various weather conditions, and inside the store
- Ability to perform general housekeeping duties
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Must be able to traverse and access all areas of the store
- Prolonged periods of standing, sitting at a desk, and working on a computer
