About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Diagnose, repair, and maintain fuel dispensers, underground storage tanks (USTs), leak detection systems, and vapor recovery units
- Install and upgrade fueling equipment and related technology
- Perform preventive maintenance and compliance inspections
- Respond to service calls and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner
- Maintain detailed service, inspection, and compliance records
- Support construction projects, tank testing, and permitting activities
- Serve as a technical lead and mentor to junior technicians
- Act as a subject matter expert for fueling systems and regulatory compliance
- Coordinate with vendors, inspectors, and regulatory agencies
- Recommend system upgrades and long-term improvements
- Support and maintain fueling infrastructure across multiple retail locations
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3-5 years of hands-on experience servicing fuel systems
- Experience working independently in field-based service environments
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently
- Willingness to travel between store locations
- Experience with fuel systems in retail, convenience store, or commercial fueling environments
- Familiarity with Veeder-Root, Gilbarco, and Wayne systems
- OSHA and/or HAZMAT certification
- 5+ years of fuel systems experience for senior-level roles
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather
- On-call availability for emergency or after-hours service as needed
