About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Interface with relevant departments to understand NOV products and their safe operation, testing, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Travel to customer sites to inspect, install, commission, test, calibrate, repair, and train customers on NOV products.
- Perform field upgrades of software and hardware and train customers on system operation.
- Communicate field failures and feedback reports to appropriate departments.
- Complete and submit field service documentation promptly.
- Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair drilling equipment.
- Train other NOV Field Service Technicians.
- Provide accurate and timely work-progress and output reports.
- Work in the repair shop when needed.
- Comply with NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Microsoft Office knowledge required.
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and basic electrical drawings.
- Minimum 3–5 years mechanical experience required.
- Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics required.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems required.
- Working knowledge of rig floor equipment, including Top Drives and Iron Rough Necks, preferred.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must obtain and maintain an active NOV corporate credit card.
- Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, overtime, and on-call 24/7.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Ability to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and basic hand tools.
- Ability to work in harsh environments, including rain, snow, heat, and heights exceeding 150 feet.
- Willingness to comply with safety regulations and procedures.
