About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide responsive support to EHR users across Local Health Districts
- Triage, troubleshoot, and escalate issues appropriately
- Monitor and maintain key EHR workflows, processes, and procedures
- Engage stakeholders to understand operational needs and evaluate current EHR capabilities
- Identify workflow and system gaps and recommend effective alternative solutions
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for system enhancements
- Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and other Agile documentation
- Support functional, integration, and user acceptance testing
- Collaborate with cross-functional technical, clinical, and business teams
- Produce user documentation, job aids, and training materials
- Contribute to interim solution development and long-term system improvement strategies
- Support successful deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement of the Virginia Department of Health EHR system
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience providing application support, preferably in healthcare environments
- 7+ years of experience triaging, troubleshooting, and escalating issues
- 5+ years of experience monitoring and maintaining EHR workflows, processes, and procedures
- 7+ years of experience engaging stakeholders, evaluating EHR capabilities, identifying gaps, and recommending alternative solutions
- 7+ years of experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements
- 7+ years of experience developing user stories, acceptance criteria, and Agile documentation
- 7+ years of experience supporting functional, integration, and user acceptance testing
- 7+ years of experience collaborating with technical, clinical, and business teams
- 7+ years of experience producing user documentation, job aids, and training materials
- 7+ years of experience participating in structured testing cycles
- 7+ years of proficiency with MS Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Visio
- 7+ years of experience supporting or implementing EHR systems
- 3+ years of knowledge of Oracle Health / Cerner platforms and public health workflows
- Understanding of clinical, pharmaceutical, and patient billing workflows
- Strong requirements documentation and enhancement analysis skills
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with SQL, Oracle databases, or web application environments is desired
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and documentation practices is desired
