About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead, drive, and manage business processes and projects for Core Medical Teams and/or Business Area Heads across Medical Affairs
- Plan and execute annual deliverables, pre- and post-launch plans, project development and management, and budgets
- Manage internal and external strategic collaborations to optimize Medical Modernization and Strategic Partnership Engagements and Medical Affairs performance
- Build relationships and maintain strong communication channels with stakeholders and external partners
- Lead implementation of business-critical projects
- Plan and execute strategic, launch, and life-cycle-dependent projects across therapy and business areas
- Drive Core Medical Team and Business Area core processes
- Align budget tactics with Medical Affairs strategy
- Establish and execute governance ensuring medical activities comply with legal and compliance guidance
- Provide strategic partnership to Therapeutic Area and Business Area leadership
- Coordinate CMT and Business Area activities and projects, including annual strategy and tactics development
- Apply project planning principles to coordinate and execute projects and activities
- Support development of qualitative and quantitative performance measures for CMT effectiveness
- Implement Medical Affairs best practices and standards
- Coordinate operational activities, facilitate communication, and foster collaboration across departments
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to improve Medical Affairs effectiveness
- Identify process improvements, analyze processes, and implement changes to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality
- Promote innovation and optimize operations through new technologies or practices
- Lead budget planning with Business Area Heads, including local and LAP budgets
- Manage external vendors to maximize project timelines and deliverables
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required
- PMP certification preferred
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressively responsible project management experience required
- Good understanding of project, change and program management principles, methods and techniques, and process improvement
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Expertise and strong working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of applications
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with people at all levels of the organization
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to design and execute analyses supporting decision-making and planning
- Strategic and growth mindset, with understanding of market needs and the legal and regulatory environment of the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience with budgets and contracts, including cost-benefit analysis, ROI, KPIs, financial milestones, and payment schedules
- Demonstrated analytical skills and critical thinking to resolve complex issues and develop new solutions
- Decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions, and identifying priorities
