About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Monitor process control systems and operate assigned process areas and equipment
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and identify system improvements
  • Provide technical support for site projects, operations, and maintenance
  • Adhere to Quality, Environmental, and EH&S regulations
  • Support technical development of Utilities and Maintenance Technicians
  • Drive continuous process improvement using cLEAN® concepts
  • Support maintenance and establishment of SOPs, process/equipment standards, and maintenance plans
  • Coach and train production operators on relevant processes and equipment
  • Support design, installation, commissioning, qualification, and training activities for the assigned area
  • Develop and implement reliability-driven maintenance and monitoring plans and practices
  • Oversee third-party service providers
  • Make minor operational decisions that may affect other employees and/or clientele
  • Perform other assigned accountabilities
  • Report to the Manager of Black Utilities, Clean Utilities, or RMS

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's Degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering/technology or equivalent combination of education & experience required
  • Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience in engineering, engineering technology, design technology, or a related field required
  • Knowledge & experience in the operations, maintenance & design of utilities and/or bulk chemical storage equipment required
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (FDA, cGMP, OSHA) preferred
  • Proficiency in Black Utilities, Clean Utilities and/or RMS systems, including purified water, clean steam, process air, boilers, chillers, compressors, cooling towers, waste systems, chemical storage and distribution systems, solvent distillation required
  • Prior qualification/work experience required
  • Ability to read/review design drawings (CAD) with a basic understanding of P&ID, PFD, electrical systems and equipment schematics preferred
  • Understanding of technical documents such as URS, SAT, FAT, Commissioning and Validation Protocols preferred
  • Understanding of complicated equipment manufacturer supplied documentation and standard operating procedures with attention to high-level concepts preferred
  • Computer literacy with associated systems; working knowledge of process control systems such as Delta-V and Siemens BMS preferred
  • Proven expertise in planning, organization and execution of project and maintenance activities, following up on results and revising work plans for complex problems resolved by cross-functional teams preferred
  • Ability to move equipment and/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds
  • Ability to work on feet for up to a 12-hour shift
  • Ability to operate and inspect manufacturing equipment using hands
  • Ability to occasionally ascend/descend ladders and work at elevated heights
  • Ability to work around odorous and/or hazardous materials, loud noise, extremely cold environments, and potentially confined spaces
  • May be required to secure a motorized vehicle license and operate a motorized vehicle based on the role
