About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform all aspects of truck and bulk liquid unloading to support API-US facility operations
  • Load and unload products from trucks, tankers, and ISO containers
  • Operate pumps and valves; blend and mix chemicals and products as needed during offloads
  • Handle, label, and store hazardous and non-hazardous materials
  • Perform material handling operations for hazardous materials in drums, pallets, and IBC configurations
  • Ensure timely and accurate material movements in SAP/ERP
  • Perform visual and pH inspections on rainwater before pumping out containment areas as needed
  • Perform weekly pH probe calibrations using MES/DeltaV
  • Replace solvent and boundary filters according to planned maintenance schedules in SAP
  • Partner with warehouse sampling operations to complete tasks
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment used for chemical and material offloading
  • Adhere to plant health, safety, and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Keep the work area clean throughout the shift
  • Maintain up-to-date training status
  • Work in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
  • Perform other assigned accountabilities
  • Report to the Manager, RMS & Utilities Operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma/GED, required
  • Minimum of two (2) year of truck/bulk liquid unloading or warehousing or equivalent, required
  • Basic math skills, including knowledge of metric system, required
  • Computer competencies required, including basic Microsoft knowledge: Outlook & Word, preferred
  • Good written & verbal communication skills, required
  • Ability to read, write legibly & understand all department documentation, required
  • Ability to drive non-CDL box truck or similar vehicle for movement of materials on site, required
  • AS degree in related field, or equivalent industrial, military, or vocational training, desired
  • HAZWOPER certification &/or relevant training, desired
  • Knowledge of SAP/ERP to include entry level Warehouse tasks, desired
  • Training or experience demonstrating an understanding of risks inherent to processing, handling & storage of hazardous materials, preferred
  • Ability to operate stand-up & sit-down forklifts after applicable training & maintain appropriate licensure, preferred
  • Ability to navigate & operate MES & Delta V operating systems, preferred
  • Good organizational skills, preferred
  • Ability to execute a work plan & adapt to changes in schedule rapidly, preferred
  • Ability to work on feet for up to a 12-hour shift
  • Ability to move equipment and/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally ascend/descend ladders and potentially work at elevated heights
  • Ability to work around odorous and/or hazardous materials and in loud noise environments with hearing protection
  • May require corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 and colour vision
  • May require wearing latex gloves and working in extremely cold environments or confined spaces
  • May be required to secure a motorized vehicle license and operate a motorized vehicle
